Cell Phones Cameras and other Electronic Devices

Students are allowed to carry cell phones for emergency purposes only; However, they must be OFF and in student backpack.  Texting and videotaping are not permitted anytime during the school day. Phones must be turned off and in back packs (not in pocket) while on campus.  The use of any cameras on campus is allowed only with staff approval. No other electronic devices (except computers) are to be used on campus without administrator or teacher approval. Failure to follow guidelines/violation of these rules will result in loss of merits, further consequences and confiscation of phone/device. Electronic devices/phones that are inappropriately used will be confiscated. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will be responsible for picking up confiscated phones/electronic devices. Cell phones may only be used for emergencies with approval through the office.  If a student has an emergency, they should ask their teacher if they can go to the office. 

 

First Violation

Cell phone or mobile device confiscated, held in school office; student can pick up after 3:00 PM.

Second Violation

Cell phone or mobile device confiscated, referral is written,  held in school office until a parent/guardian can pick up after 3:00 PM.

Third Violation

Cell phone or mobile device confiscated, referral is written, held in school office until a parent/guardian picks it up. Student must check in their cell phone each day by first school bell (or leave at home) and pick up after 3:00 p.m. for the rest of the trimester (or next trimester if violation is within 4 weeks of end of trimester).
